4 Recipes for the Spring Season

Spring is just around the corner and that means that tasty seasonal foods are coming back. Some of these delicious foods are strawberries, kiwi, pineapple, carrots, asparagus, artichokes, peas, spinach and so much more. All of these foods are very healthy for you, but you have to make sure you make them in the right way to keep them healthy. Along with exercising, you also have to have a healthy diet to help keep off the pounds. Here are just a few recipes to help satisfy your chocolate cravings, start your day right, and help find a healthy but delicious way to feed your family dinner.

  1. Dark Chocolate Covered Strawberries. These delicious strawberries are full of Vitamin C that helps immune system deficiencies, cardiovascular disease, prenatal health problems, and eye disease (Web MD Zelman).  Dipping the strawberry in dark chocolate satisfies your chocolate cravings, but also adds more nutrients to this delicious treat. Dark Chocolate helps your heart and brain, along with many vitamins and minerals (Fit Day). So whenever you’re craving a sweet know that there is a healthy alternative to satisfying your craving.
  2. Kiwi/Pineapple Smoothie. If you want a burst of energy for the start of your day this is the drink for you. This delicious smoothie is full of Vitamin C and fibers helping you become more of a morning person with a burst of energy to make morning activities more enjoyable.
  3. Asparagus Soup. Asparagus is known for being one of the healthiest vegetables alongside of spinach. It has fiber, folate, and vitamins A, C, E and K. If you ask me that’s a ton of nutrients all in one vegetable. Making it into a soup adds a different take on the vegetable. Turning asparagus into a soup keeps the nutrients but adds a different taste to it by adding a variety of spices and vegetables. This yummy meal only takes about 45 minutes to make and satisfies a hungry family.
  4.  Grilled Artichokes. This is a vegetable that can be used for many different recipes. It can be used on sandwiches, salads, and even by themselves. One reason people use them for so many different things is because of the taste and nutrients they have. Artichokes have protein, carbohydrates, fiber, calcium, sodium, and vitamins A, B, E, and K (Fit Day). This is another delicious vegetable that can help fulfil the hunger of your family.
